Brilliant!! I love the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang excerpt. I wonder if you could make the bottom (foot part) of the liner from felt and the top from something thinner, like old thermal underwear legs or something? Something thin yet warm (can you get your hands on and 2nd hand silk jersey in that thrift shop of yours?). Wish you were closer, I had some fake fur that you could have had.

I just bought a pair of boots that were a tad too big for me in Seattle knowing I could stuff them with some orthotics I've never been able to wear because none of my shoes were big enough, but I'm thinking if that doesn't work out, felted soles would make a nice alternative. Thanks!
